Joanna Różewska
Joanna Różewska is a Polish pianist, currently living in Warsaw, Poland. Her repertoire features
Chopin alongside lesser known composers. Her great passion is discovering the folk music influences
in the classical music.
She is highly successful in many international piano competitions, such as:
Semifinalist at the International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments (Warsaw, 2018)
Silver prize at the Manhattan International Music Competition, USA (2017)
2nd prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Hartford, CT (2017)
1st prize at the COOP Music Awards - Prize Antonio Bertolini in Milan (Italy, 2014)
2nd prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Mariánské Lázně (Czech Republic,
2013)
prizes at the International Piano Competition Münchner Klavierpodium der Jugend: Media-
prize, Audience-prize, Award Virtuoso 2013, Award for the Fine piano tone, Prize for best
rendition of a romantic piece and for poetic interpretation (Germany, 2013)
In 2010 she represented Poland at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
As a solo pianist she performed in USA, China, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Italy, Poland, Ukraine
and Kazakhstan. Joanna has performed in many prominent venues, such as: the National
Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, Kursaal in Stuttgart, the
Philharmonical Center Gasteig in Munich, the City Hall in Stockholm, the National University of Art in
Astana, the National Philharmonic in Chisinau, Salle Cortot in Paris, the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris,
the Polish Library in Paris, the Concert Hall of the Chopin Association in Geneva, the Swiss Embassy
in Warsaw, the Swedish Embassy in Warsaw or the Royal Castle in Warsaw. She also gave special
concerts in Chopin’s Museum in Warsaw for President of Poland, the Queen of Norway, the Prince of
Wales, and the Prime Minister of China.
Joanna worked with many outstanding pianists such as: N. Demidenko, L. Fleisher, A. Gavrilov, T.
Koch, O. Maisenberg, G. Ohlsson, M. Raekallio, J. Rouvier, J. Swann or M. Voskresensky.
Joanna Różewska holds M.M from the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (prof. E. Tarnawska)
and Professional Studies Diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (prof. Y. Nagai).
